6 Ways To Get Physical with Essential Oils

I'm not going to lie, my exercise program has taken a serious nosedive over the past 4 months. Between a drastic change in routine, a lack of motivation, and just readjusting to the kids being out of school for so long, I've found it hard to sneak fitness into my days. I needed a boost and decided to reach for my oils. I know, I feel like I'm ALWAYS reaching for my oils, but they have been used for ages for their benefits on your emotions, your physical well-being, and health and wellness. So why not add them into my fitness routine? Besides, it's all about mind over matter. Essential oils have helped me shift my mindset and get me energized for my workout.

The oils that I've been reaching for lately are Peppermint, Lemon, Deep Blue (a SERIOUS game changer!), Lavender, On Guard, and the Lifelong Vitality Pack.

Peppermint

Early morning wake-up call? Look no further than peppermint. It helps enliven you and boosts your mood while helping you breathe easy during your workout routine.

Try this: before a personal training session

Tip: Take a deep inhale before your workout for an extra boost of energy. It helps you stay alert and focused.

Lemon

Cleansing and detoxifying, lemon is great to add to your water for a natural pre-workout drink. It will quench your thirst while adding a burst of flavour - this usually helps me drink more and stay hydrated longer!

Try this: before your long run

Tip: Fill your water bottle and add one drop of lemon essential oil. Stick it in your fridge overnight and grab and go in the morning. Drink this throughout the day before your run.

Deep Blue Rub

This is so soothing and cooling and an absolute must for all. It soothes and supports sore joints and muscles. It's no surprise that many massage therapists and sports practitioners choose Deep Blue!

Try this: after an intense workout

Tip: If you're feeling extra sore, apply the Deep Blue oil along with a carrier oil and then layer with the Deep Blue rub for extra support.

Lavender

We all know lavender as a calming oil that helps with stress, any anxious feelings, and sleep support. Diffuse lavender oil at bedtime or spray some lavender oil mixed with water on your pillow to help you get a good night's sleep.

Try this: at bedtime to support sleep before an early morning class

Tip: You can also apply lavender oil mixed with a carrier oil to sore muscles to soothe and relax.

On Guard

Now more than ever we need to support our immune systems. Besides, getting sick just slows us down and puts a wrench into our fitness goals. On Guard is a powerful proprietary blend that supports a healthy immune system.

Try this: in the diffuser after doing a home workout

Tip: Add On Guard to a spray bottle full of water for an all-purpose cleaner. Wipe those mats, weights, and any equipment down and zap those germs!

Lifelong Vitality Pack

This is doTERRA's #1 selling product and for good reason. The combination of three separate supplements promotes energy, health, and lifelong vitality. It's also full of essential nutrients and antioxidants and positively impacts your metabolism.

Try this: daily! Add this to your daily routine and reap the benefits

Tip: Write down your reps or times before and after taking these supplements and see if you notice a difference.
