How To Balance Your Chakras with Essential Oils

Most people have heard of chakras or have at least heard the term being thrown around. But what are they exactly and what is their function?
Chakras are energy centers throughout your body that help to regulate all its processes, from organ function to the immune system and emotions. There are 7 main chakras from the crown of your head to the base of your spine. Each chakra has it's own colour, vibrational frequency, and function. When your chakras are balanced, in alignment, and spinning just right, you are able to achieve absolute balance in your life.
This is where essential oils come in. And as we know, oils have been around for centuries but have made a strong comeback and are beneficial to our modern day lives.
Use the oils in combination with other tools like yoga or meditation to help balance the system. Just mix with Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply topically to the corresponding chakra area.
Root Chakra (Muladhara)
Located at the tip of the tailbone, use oils such as Ginger, Vetiver, Bergamot, and Patchouli to ground and stabilize.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhistana)
This area is located in the pelvis region, about 2 inches below the navel. The sacral chakra is all about creativity. Use Jasmine, Neroli, Sandalwood, or Wild Orange here.
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)
This one is located right below the rib cage and it's energy is associated with personal power - think self-esteem and confidence. In this area, use Eucalyptus, Grapefruit, Lemon, Ginger or Cinnamon to heat and Peppermint or Wintergreen to cool.
Heart Chakra (Anahata)
In the centre of the chest just above the heart lies the heart chakra. Melissa, Lavender, Marjoram, Rose, and Ylang Ylang all help balance the heart and enhance love.
Throat Chakra (Vishudha)
Our centre for self-expression - the throat - holds the energy for our authentic truth. Spearmint, Oregano, Frankincense, Coriander, Roman Chamomile, and Lavender clear this passageway.
Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)
At the centre of our forehead, in between the eyes, lies the gateway to our intuition. Rosemary, Neroli, and Sandalwood calm the active mind.
Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)
Finally, at the very top of our head is the crown chakra. This is our connection to beauty and spirituality. Frankincense, a very spiritually-charged oil, brings mental peace and clarity. Rose, Cedarwood, Rosemary and Sandalwood are also great for this chakra.
